Rebuild Program

Over the past 6 years the Gallery Stretcher has improved on existing design to meet the needs of our customers in high-production facilities.  Many of our customers that provide print-on-demand services stretch 4000-6000 canvas a month.  Machines that were manufactured prior to 2010 do not have many of the design changes that allow the machine to endure the constant repetitive motion.

The most significant change has been to the angle bar.  The original design incorporated a “non-skid” tape that was impacted by high humidity.  The next design change incorporated  a “patented” textured finish that was far too aggressive and did not stand-up well in a high-production environment.  Our latest design change is actually extruded from our own custom-designed die, it consists of a concave profile with linear grooves that hold the canvas very well without scuffing.

The frame has been fortified with steel corner, T-brackets and pass-through bolts.  The stretcher plates are now slotted brackets with “rolled” sides to provide added strength.  The stretcher blocks have a custom low friction glide that eliminates the metal-on-metal contact with the stretcher bar.

Recently, we replaced the toggle switch with a “locking” foot pedal eliminating the need to reach to the far side of the machine to initiate the stretch.  Now the clamping and the stretching are done from to foot pedals mounted on a steel plate beneath the center of the machine.  Anyone with a machine manufactured later than 2010 would benefit with our rebuild program.  Even machines that are older than 3 months do not have the dual-foot pedal system.

The rebuild program for the GS-60 falls under two categories, machines less than 2 years old and those greater than 2 years.  In either case they are brought up to todays standards and include a full 1 year warranty on parts and labor.  The only indication that you would have that your machine was not factory new would be the condition of the deck (not replaced) and the condition of the extruded frame.  Existing pneumatics are used when possible and cylinders added when needed.
